Happy New Year!!!

And thank you for all the emails and e-cards for my birthday, happy, happy!!!
Last week I saw my first Maya ruin, it was very nice! Actually I didn´t know much about the Maya culture and forgot to bring my Lonely Planet with me, which contains lots of info about the Copanruins... So we hired a guide for very little money and that was such a good idea!
The next morning me and 2 Dutch girls, one American and 1 Irish girl, all from the same hostel, went to Antigua, Guatemala. I stayed at the place where I always stay in Antigua, and it was soooooooooooooooo gooooood to see Irma, the owner, again!
I met Zach, the first person I spoke to when I arrived in Antigua 3 months ago, again in a bar and it felt so good! He was still studying spanish there.
The next morning me and Debby, the American girl went to San Pedro and we stay at this kind of ´hippie comune´ hostel, where the main activity smoking pot is. Very relax atmosphere (obviously), a big kitchen and a huge table, lots of people, very nice.
The first day I arrived here I went to see Daniel, he is living in San Pedro and it was good to see him again! Spend some time with him and his friend Pascale.
Sarah, another student from my former school, is also still here. So for new year I was with my friends again, went to a bar and when it turned 2005 the percussion band in the bar started to play, everybody dancing, going crazy, so I had a very very good beginning of the year!!!
I met this other guy Hector from Spain, with whom I spent most of my time here. Just relaxing at the dock, doing a scavanger hunt in San Pedro (real fun, got to places where I´ve never been before), we turned out the be the last one (my sense of direction/orientation sucks!) so we had to eat cold sardines out of a can, which wasn´t that bad actually...
Yesterday was my birthday, and I went with Daniel and Pascale to another lakevillage Santiago de Atitlan. A very peacefull village, just wandered around, went to see a Mayan God Maximon, who lives in someones house and moves to another house every single year. Very tranquilo!
Daniel took some pictures you can see them on:

and lots of silly pictures of me under the section KAREN, plz don´t spend to much time on that section...
In the evening I went out for dinner with Sarah and her boyfriend Rob and today, I hope within an hour, I will head to the spiritual lakevillage San Marcos.
Stay in the pyramid houses, do the meditation course and yoga in the morning, become one with nature bla bla bla... I´m curious!!!
