Wow, travelling with another girl is so handy!!! In Lanquin I met this Dutch girl, Michaela, and we decided to travel together to the Caribean. I almost always end up travelling with guys so I was kinda looking forward to travel with another girl again.

We went to Rio Dulce first, from there there is a nice boattrip to Livingston, where the Garifuna people live. Black people, talking in English and a lot of reggaemusic. Because we arrived quite late in Rio Dulce, we spent the night over there. We got a private hotelroom for half the price!!! The owner of the hotel kinda liked us (we were the only 2 young girls in the hotels) and the next day we could use his kayaks for free!!! We kayaked for the whole day, it was great!!! Stopped at an island, where we were supposed pay entrance, but again, we were lucky, didn´t had to pay at all. Then we decided to go to this little hut, looked like a restaurant to have a drink. When we arrived to that place, we immediately tied up our kayaks and asked if we could have a drink. It wasn´t a restaurant or hotel at all, but a huge villa!!! Man, never seen anything like that before. So we actually parked in someone's backyard without knowing it, oops...
The woman was really nice and made us some lemonade, the man showed us the villa, later on, the woman made us some fish and salad (I got both the fishes since Michaela is a vegetarian, hihi!), and we swam together with their children in their swimmingpool, really nice!!! Then they brought us back by a normal boat, so we didn´t have to kayak all the way back, wow!

The day after we went to a hot waterfall, wow, that was amazing!!! I stayed there for hours and hours, taking the ´hot shower´, swimming in the cool pool, going back to the waterfall and so on.
In the afternoon we took the amazing boattrip to Livingston, really beautiful!
In Livingston we were lucky again, getting a lot of discount for the nice private room with our own bathroom! In the evening we ended up in a local disco, kinda dead overthere...
The next morning we went for a little hike to some viewpoint and the 7 waterfalls. But because it is the dry season, there weren´t any waterfalls, but the nature was beautiful anyway. Took a little swim in the Caribean sea and in the night we ended up in another reggaebar. Livingston was a nice, relaxing place, but not much to do there...

Then we went to some Finca (farm), where we relaxed a couple of days more. Excellent food overthere with this all you can eat buffet, that was great, after all the rice and beans!

Yesterday we went to Tikal, Mayan ruins in this huge jungle, wonderfull! We stayed over at Tikal, at this really expensive place and spend the night in the hammock (in the jungle), the cheapest way. Because we arrived quite late in Tikal, we had an ticket, valid for 2 days. We watched the sunset from the highest temple in Tikal, which was really beautiful. Then we had this deal with one of the guards, we pay him a little money and he will let us in the park, in the night befor official opening hours. So we slept (mas o menos) a couple of hours in our hammocks, woke up at 3.15AM and were in the park (the only ones!!!) at 3.45AM. Wow that was so cool! Watching the moon and the stars from some temples, sounds of the jungle around us. Really cool to hear the animals waking up and starting to make noises. The howlermonkeys are so cool, such a little animal, but wow, what a noise!!! We didn´t see the sunrise, since it become foggy when it reached the morning. The official opening hour was at 6.00AM, so yep, our private park for some time!!!
I climbed a lot of temples, some three times, walked a lot in the jungle, saw a lot of animals, mainly monkeys and birds, it was a really nice day!!!

Tomorrow I will leave Guatemala, for Belize or Mexico, I don´t know yet. Think I´ll decide on my way. Michaela will go the other direction, have to find another young girl to travel with, so much cheaper, haha!!!
Goodbye beautiful Guatemala, maybe visit you again some time...
