Last day of my travel.....

Palenque was fun, we stayed in a cabaña in the jungle of Palenque, close to the Mayan ruins. Very nice cabañas, but no ceiling, so yes, we could hear our neighbours having fun... Sometimes Americans are just so loud!!! The first day we didn't do much actually, just relaxing in our cabaña, in the evening went to the restaurant where some bands were playing live music, really nice. And later in the evening there were some hippies doing the fire-juggling thing, so cool to see!
The next morning we went to the ruins. I expected it to be very crowded with people, since it's a quite popular ruin, but there were very few people actually, which was good! The ruins were pretty impressive, most of the people say it's the most impressive of all, but my favourite is still Tikal in Guatemala!
The next day we went to a waterfall Misol-Ha, 30 meters high, very nice. Then to Agua Azul, wow that was amazing! It was kinda similar to Semuc Champey in Guatemala, but way more bigger!!! Too bad the wheather wasn't as good, but went for a swim anyway, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
The day after Mark and I took off to San Cristobal, a town in the mountains of Chiapas, quite Mayan. That was a really nice colonial town, beautiful building, lovely streets and a lot of handicrafts!!!
We went to a canyon nearby, called Canyon de Sumidero. Took a boatride through the canyon, which was really beautiful! Saw a lot of crocodiles and birds on the way. Got a free ride back and went to the markets. Love to hang around the handicraft markets, lots of the same stuff, but it's so beautiful!
Next day we went to the market again and then split up again. Mark was going to Cancun and I to Mexico City, very long busride!!!
I started my busride at 4.00pm and arrived the next morning at 6.00am in Mexico City. So there I was, all by myself with all my bags in this HUGE city!!! Help, what to do now? Asked how much a cab was, 15 dollars, too expensive. So I checked out the metrosystem, took some metros to the station near the hostel. I was lucky that I was early, otherwise it wouldn't be possible to get in the crowded metro with all my bags! When I was on the streets again, it was still dark! Shit, well, let's walk and find the hostel then... Luckly there was 1 bed free, so I jumped into bed and slept for an hour orso. Woke up, had breakfast with the whole hostel (free breakfast) and went with some people from the hostel to Teotihuacan. I thought it was an Aztec temple, but no, they don't know anything about the origin, only that the Aztecs found this temple when the city was already abandoned. Beautiful, big and impressive temple!
Today I went with a guided tour to the Anthropology museum of Mexico, which was really interesting! In the afternoon I just walked around in town, so much to see here! I went up to the highest tower in Mexico city in the evening and saw the city by night! So amazing, I was just above the nightlife of Mexico city, listening to all the sounds of the city around me, wow!!!
Well, that's it I guess, tomorrow wake up, pack my bag, get a cab (metro is impossible at that time) and go to the airport.
I have like 7 hours of transfertime when I arrive in Madrid, Spain. If I'm lucky, I can go into town and have breakfast in Spain before I go the Netherlands. Hmmmmmmm, sounds good he!
Tot snel!
